My head has been ... buzzing... all week over the fact that my niece is pregnant. Three months along.  This is the girl who moved in with me last September, 2 cats in tow, after she discovered that the guy she married saw marriage as a license to control.  She suddenly went from being his fun, independent girlfriend to being a woman he owned.

Definitely agree with you about the divorce. Father of the baby sounds like a great guy and fortunately he's will stand by her.

Any chance she would consider giving you temporary custody of the cats while they adjust to living together?????

Yeh, the dad is great- thank goodness! She has grown up a lot, but she's still young, so his maturity is a bonus.

And I may have to catsit the monsters for a few days when she first goes into labour. Which, as you know, is OK with me. :-)

I'm so glad you two sat down and talked. It's so easy to let that sort of thing mushroom and really wreck things and so hard to start talking about. I feel so much better for you now! :)

Have learned the hard way that misunderstandings grow and worsen unless you clear the air and open communication. I'm just glad I remembered in time. Things are good now.
