I was in the mall and saw some pretty sundresses on sale - not for me, but they caught my eye, so I wandered closer.  What I saw shocked me.  They came in sizes 2 (S), 4 (M), 6 (L), and 8 (XL).  When did size 8 become XL?  In what universe is a size 8 an extra-large??  What are we doing to our daughters?  When a sweet little size 6 girl needs to ( Read more... )

I can't believe an 8 was an extra large! That is sick.

It *is* sick, isn't it? No wonder young girls have such poor self image.

That would be a really upsetting dream ... I hope you were able to shake it off.

I recently realized I have the reverse warped perception as well. When I see pictures of myself, I recognize the OMGFAT. But in the mirror and in my head, I still see myself as I was about 70 pounds ago...still quite fat, but not the OMGFAT I am now. :(

It can be so weird... I wonder if we see ourselves as others do. And conversely, do we see others as they see themselves? There's a whole psych course in this.

It can take a long to realize that we no longer look like we remember....I once gained a lot of weight quite quickly and I have no idea how I missed it......didn't want to I guess.
