The Ten Things meme, since brittyone tagged me and I'm feeling cooperative.

Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little-known facts about themselves. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little-known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.
  1. I have a great memory, but I've semi-intentionally honed it so that I'm better at remembering stuff that's going to be on tests and songs and other less-consequential things and worse at remembering things I have to do because I'm lazy and have a knack for self-sabotage.
  2. I'm actually kind of pleased that I've recently started cooking more. I'm good at it (which I've known since doing well in Home Ec in seventh grade), I take pride in being good at it (some people need a lot of practice before they can even make stuff that's edible. I just need practice to streamline my cooking process), and I enjoy it (what better way to ensure the food is exactly how you like it than to make it yourself?).
  3. I love walking around barefoot. Even in the middle of winter I avoid putting on socks unless I absolutely have to (such as when I go outside) and in warm weather if I can't be barefoot I'm more likely to go with my flip-flops or sandals than proper shoes and socks if I can get away with it.
  4. I love having pockets. Deep enough to stick my whole hand in is always best, and I prefer to have at least four: two at the front, two at the back. Cargo pockets are also good, because I can carry around more stuff.
  5. I don't generally like "girly" stuff, but I take pride in naturally having the sort of hair lots of women spend a lot of money and effort on replicating and having nails that grow fast and strong. I've also gotten more confident in my looks the past year or so, despite not having done much to change them yet. If I ever feel like trying to really wow people, I think I've got a lot to work with.
  6. I love parrots and other more common pet-type birds to pieces, but someday I really want a toucan of some sort. Either one of the bigger species or some sort of araçari, but not a toucanet because they don't really fit my mental toucan image.
  7. I could have digital copies of every book I'd ever want to read in the world and still make an effort to buy them, just for the feel of paper under my fingers as I read.
  8. I have a matrilineal history of weirdness. My mom's older sister lived a few states away from their parents for a while, and at one point during this time as she was laying down for a nap she saw Grandma Bills standing over the bed. I can't remember if they said anything to each other, but a little later Aunt Ida was talking to Grandma on the phone and discovered she was dressed exactly as Ida had seen her. Another time Aunt Ida saw a red-headed woman walk past the doorway of the room she was in, but when she went to see who the woman was there wasn't anyone there or really anywhere she could've gone. My mom once had a dream of a string of lottery numbers where the last number was blurred out, so she played those numbers for weeks and weeks. The first week she didn't play them? They came up. Several times when we were little I remember Jenn saying she'd dreamed exactly whatever had just happened, and these days she's more than willing to go on the occassional ghost-hunt with her fiancé and his family. I'm not too shabby with a deck of tarot cards myself--moreso with the past, but I've started getting more accurate readings of the future recently.
  9. My favorite video games are RPGs and fighting games. I just love beating on pixelated opponents, and since I'm good at it too it all works out. No, seriously, it once took me about five minutes of playing one of the newer Mortal Kombat games (with all sorts of fancy fighting-style-changing I didn't bother to read about) to be able to beat the kid who'd rented the game and had a week or so to practice and memorize combos.
  10. Peeling is really damn fun. I don't care if I'm peeling sunburnt skin from various body parts or glue off my palms or hydroxy mask off my face, it's like being a snake or one of countless invertebrates sloughing off the dead old outside to make room for the fresh new me.

Tagging whoever wants to do it, because I'm not that cooperative.

In other news: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DIZZ! For real this time. XD;

All that took way too long. Dinner time!
