I'm drawing too much again
NOTES FOR SELF REFERENCE BLABLABLA:
The theme was balance/harmony..so I drew sea creatures inhabiting stereotypical dry land environment and tried to make it look semi-realistic >_>;
Originally it was very blue-green to emphasize the land x sea theme but I think green took over. :[ It's supposed to give off a peaceful aura..I should have drawn leaves to soften the hard lines >_>
*UM YEAH I NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TEXTURIZE THE BARK. Especially the three largest trees...wtfff they're so smooth it's really creepy
*If I'm going to draw so much detail on one part of the tree..I need to detail!ize the rest of it or it looks completely imbalanced. Especially the tree on the right, that gigantic branch looks way out of place...even if it is my favourite branch.
*The girl stands out a bit too much, which defeats the whole purpose of the picture. >[ I should have chosen less satured colours. I don't like the colour pallet in general -_- it..clashes badly.
*The jellyfish colours are a bit too bright and stand out too much
*I should have dulled the two dark trees in the back, or added more dark trees. Composition is really awkward.
*LOL IN FULL VIEW THE GROUND IS SO MESSY :[
*Use bigger canvas next time?
*Light source is eeeehhh
*the background has either too little light I think..either that or I should have darkened it to give a more crowded!forest-y feel.
*I forgot to shade beneath the narwhal's feet >_>
*I should have added spots of light underneath the pink jellyfish..either that or a shadow
*I hate green
*the overall colour pallet is not to my liking, but I need to break out of my comfort zone >_>;
I've always wanted to draw a forest sceneeeee..that and a city scene but holy shit buildings are a bitch to texturize IMO :[
