This coffee is horrible. I guess I don’t notice when I’m up in the wee hours of the morning, but I’ve slept in today, and now its getting hard to drink it. I like this narrative device. How much effort does it take to visualize yourself from someone else's point of view? When I was six or seven, I used to love pretending that I was an omniscient narrator of the events around me. I would sit in the carpool and shift my focus to each person's thoughts and reactions in turn. Pretending is the word I use in retrospect- at the time, it felt so automatic that I would get caught up in the idea that I COULD read minds. Do you feel that way now? Is this how you naturally experience events?

You must have been an interesting six or seven year old. Did you stop doing this sort of commentating when you grew older? Or are you an omniscient narrating master in hiding ( ... )

Andrew, I applaud your writing, and empathize, I think. Mostly I just felt like dropping a line. Hi.

Max, it has been too long! I checked your journal a little while ago and saw that you haven't posted in a while. I can't blame you for that, of course, seeing as how I have posted so little. I hope things are going well, and if now isn't a golden age, perhaps tomorrow will be. Thanks for dropping by.
