Went and saw Hostel. Bleah. As blackmetalrain said, better than Saw... but too much titty, not quite enough of that spectacular gore. Nothing new. Spent the whole first half of the movie annoyed by the main characters. I love the whole idea of the Elite Hunting thing, though... Woa! Some freak brought their kid to see that? Sicko. The blonde guy that was killed first was totally grating my nerves. I was glad to see him go. The tit shots, I think, were to make up for the fact that you weren't going to see anything as bearable the second half of the movie. The guy from Iceland holding his camera phone while screwing the chick in the bathroom was pretty funny. Did it seem like they were trying to make you buy a nifty camera phone or, has that become apart of the horror/slasher movie formula?

I think all the titty could have been used as an effective psychological tool if we'd seen titties being cut off and mutilated in the latter half. I dunno...Tarantino kinda dissappointed me this time.
And I have noticed an almost unbearable ammount of product placement in recent big movies. I mean...I guess sometimes it's unavoidable because in today's society, pretty much any inanimate object has some sort of logo on it. But like in War of the Worlds, after the aliens did their EMP and killed everything electrical...they made it very clear that one guy's Pansonic digital video cam still worked...

I liked Saw more, or maybe I've just convinced myself that I liked it more. Need to watch it again to be sure.

It's 100% Tarantino, but I liked how it was as much about revenge at the end rather than just escape.

It's almost as if recent horror flicks are just flirting with a really good idea...but then shy away from it at the last second because it's just too scary.

I liked it,but there was far too much boobs for me. (For ME!) I thought it could've been done much better. I felt kinda' bad when I started laughing through the latter half of the movie, not really. It was better thatn Saw, but I've heard that Saw II was better than the first? Boo! Poison Ivy, watch your step trollip. Bottle of wine good idea.

And is Saw II out on DVD yet? Maybe we could rent it to watch tonight...with the wine :)
