Condemned to Notoriety

The house was empty; no one had lived there for years.

“Go on, I dare you to go in there”
“No man, didn’ someone die in there?”
“That was just a legend the ‘rents told us to scare us”
“Ok then”

“Breaking news, a serial murder was discovered in the condemned manor on Roanoke Lake.”

Forlorn Love

“Starry skies, Moonlit eyes, Sunkist cheeks, Rose-colored lips.”
“Dear, I love you so.”
“I know hon.”
“Shall we go to your favorite restaurant dearest?”
“No, lets go to your favorite restaurant for our anniversary this year.”
“Thanks sweetie.”
“Tell me when you’re ready.”
“I’ll be out soon.”

“Sir, Funeral visiting hours ended two hours ago.”

Never to fancy

“Is a tie too formal?”
“No, just hurry”
“Sorry, I just want to make a good impression for the new boss.”
“I know dear, just hurry”

The restaurant as elegant as it was described.
The couple walks past a poorly dressed man.

“Let me in!”
“Sir, this is a fancy restaurant”
“I have a meeting.”

Runaway groom

“Sir, we can’t just do this!”

The road whizzes by.

“Sure we can. Why Not?”

“You’re a married man!”

“So!”

“We just can’t!”

“The Border is just three miles away.”

Flashing lights.
Sirens blaring.
Smoking rising.
Dented sign

“Officer, could they have…”

“Survived? No, at 90 they died instantly.”

“Too bad, such handsome men”

Love may know boundaries

She sat there, beautiful blue eyes, tender soft lips, and auburn hair.
I asked her every day if she could love me as I love her.
I was ignored.
I sang her a ballad composed for her.
I was shunned.
I professed my love from the rooftops.
I forgot she’s deaf

She did love me.

Loose hanging coat, empty dreams.
Syringe of liquid, puncture, I scream.
My mind slips away,
Hair slumping down, clouds of grey.
Found an hour too late.
Couldn’t start my heart.
Watching down on them, I laugh with glee.
Knowing, now I’m free.
Car was gone, so too my wife. Cyanide is quicker than a knife
