I kid, I kid. *grins* (Though there really are people who hate or have her as their least favorite, surprising as that may sound; I was honestly surprised when I first encountered such people [only recently, in fact!], especially since a lot of people who have her as their favorite DC character say she’s the only good character in the series [as much as I love her, I can’t find myself to completely agree with that sentiment] and that disliking her would be utter blasphemy, even worse than that of disliking KID. First off, wow! Thanks for taking time to write such a comprehensive review!

Didn't think you expected me to wait for your approval, anyway, since this was the next fic I had ready that wasn't Shin/Ran! Being devoted to canon as we both are, I trusted you would like it as long as it was written well.

If my writing's more prolific now, it's because I'm getting inspired, hitting a stride, and trying not to psych myself out. Thank God, it's working.

The guardians thing is my way to vaguely allude to whoever the heck in the Org was responsible for the sisters. Like you said, vagueness helps where Aoyama's left gaps. Dark under-eye circles are different than eyebags; the former refers to discoloration, the latter to puffiness. I have the former, lol!

Wow, just wow. ♥ I was only barely three-fourths through the first paragraph, but you took my breath away with your wonderful description (you are such a total wordsmith!), and I loved how it captured the mood of the story! On the other hand, however, it also made me bemoan the fact that my writing is not up to par with yours, making me wonder if your birthday fic in its final form would ever be good enough. . . . Aww! Thank you so much! One of my biggest struggles is in writing detailed, evocative descriptions; I probably messed around with that intro for hours. My advice? Forget perfect, and just ask yourself if it says what you want it to say

Thanks, that scene was a bit of wish fulfillment for me. I wrote Shuu (hee!) as Akai because I was telling the story from Shiho's perspective, and it just seemed to fit. Oh my goodness, yes, Megu needs to seriously sing for this series. If she ever sang an opening song, or even a character song, I would squeal to the heavens

Hey, there! I know we haven't talked in ages, but hello, regardless. :3 How are you? I hope you're doing well.

I was just rereading this fic before my perception is forever changed by the possibility that Akemi and Shiho are half or non-biological sisters-not that I think that it would diminish their sisterly love, but I wanted to savor their relationship as we had always known it before it's confirmed that Elena and Mrs. Akai are sisters. . . . I have to say, though, it's pretty impressive that your fic still fits with canon three and a half years later, which is such a challenge for an ongoing, mystery-laden series such as Conan! If the inspiration ever strikes you, I would be thrilled to see a sequel featuring Shiho and Rei (up to you whether Shuuichi's also there or not)! Rei's connection to Elena is absolutely eating me alive. . . . (On a slightly tangetial note, how did you find the Scarlet SeriesP.S. Good grief, I can't believe I'd forgotten to reply to the comments here! *hangs head in shame* It's quite interesting, reading

I'm all right, despite the fact I've been quite sickly these past few years. Don't worry, though, it's nothing life threatening! :D Health issues aside, I finally got to visit Japan (twice!) last year, so it's not all that bad. ;P I haven't made my way to Tottori, though, but maybe someday!
