I spent all of last night reading Scott Pilgrim. I've seen the movie and I've been meaning to read the comic for quite some time.
I'm actually a little surprised at how much of the dialogue is lifted verbatim, at least from the first volume. They did a fairly decent job of adapting it, even though I noticed a lot of details got shifted around (then again I guess they had to find another way to defeat Roxie, since adding Knives' father for that fight would have bogged down the movie a bit). Also if the story and characters are really that heavily lifted from O'Malley's personal experiences, he sure knows a lot of people willing to jump in bed with the same sex :o holy shit I was not expecting a couple of those.
Now I kind of want to watch the movie again and look for minor characters, like Joseph, Sandra, Monique and Lynette. Joseph's beard should have been pretty hard to miss.
Recently I've kind of had a bile fascination with Livejournal communities like ChildFree. Specifically, the drama that stems from those communities. It's ridiculous how hate-filled some people are, towards little kids who barely did anything to them. Personally, and I've said this before, I have a tendency to waffle on whether or not I want kids in the future. Really young children wear me down and I have a hard time hanging out with them, but I wouldn't do or say half of the shit that I see gets posted on sf_drama under the childfree and cf_hardcore tags.
