Anime Central this year was AWESOME! And I didn't lose my camera this time, so I have photos! I'll give the highlights.
So I was in costume this year, and if the moopflop picture didn't give it away:
Yep there's me as Toki. With a Pickles pickle. I mades it myselfs with ketchup! My wig kept getting tangled in the back, but I was surprisingly popular o__o I got a lot of photo requests and hugs and some girl shouting "TOKI I LOVE YOU" from across a parking lot. Also a lot of people commenting on my mustache, people who didn't get it, most likely. Silly people.
So we got to the convention center Friday morning (me,
saintbargabar and
nutburger , once again) and had to wait until 3:00 PM to check into the hotel. However, something got screwed up in the mail or...something, and I didn't get my badge. So I had to wait in a line to get a replacement. Friggin' ACen can't be consistent with their badge deliveries two years in a row. Thankfully all I had to do was fill out an information sheet and show a valid ID, and I didn't have to pay any money to replace the badge. So I was out of line in about thirty minutes.
One thing that I like that I don't get to talk about very often on my Livejournal is the website
That Guy With The Glasses. Doug Walker, the man who is basically the face of the site, lives in Chicago, but he wasn't scheduled for an appearance this year. However, via the Twitter, I found out another favorite contributor of mine, Nash (who looks at horrifying news stories and does Doctor Who reviews), was going to be there with JesuOtaku. I found him in the dealer's room and asked him awkwardly for a picture. I felt like a massive dork, but oh well. Too late to second-guess my derpness now. I wanted to get one with JO, too, but Kim was walking away with my camera :(
Here are some random pictures from around the main hall.
CHASE YOUR DREAMS...YOU WILL FAIL
Inertia is a property of matter.
Hulkling and Wiccan <3 I saw another couple cosplaying as them, but they wanted a picture of me XD
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of Venture Brothers cosplay I saw this year :D
Biiiiill I love you ;A;
Now this was a pleasant surprise too! Kotetsu in his civvies from Tiger&Bunny, an anime series I'm getting pretty into lately. I took another picture of nutburger basically humping his leg, but I'll spare you all that image.
Here's an ACen regular. This guy was dressed as Doctor Venture in his pink speedsuit last year. I can't blame him; he basically IS Doctor Venture come to life.
This guy was AWESOME. He had three different Sergeant Hatred outfits, and he even had the voice down! And he gave really great hugs :3
I marathonned Panty&Stocking the other day, so now I get who these two are!
D'awww Hiccup.
Two Ton 21! That guy's like a living legend!
dlaksdjflakjdsklaaagggg these two make my heart HURT SO GOOD ;____;
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA THIS. Okay so on Saturday I was heading to the Dealer's Room to go and get an autograph, when all of a sudden Pickles comes out. I shout "PICKLE!" just as EVERYONE ELSE COMES PILING OUT. Full Dethklok group, doing the voices and everything.
I got a hug from that Skwisgaar :D "Comes here, I knows you wants a hugs from me, Toki." "Yeah, I gets a hugs from you, Skwisgaar! ...I kills you later!" Murderface wanted to exchange Facebook information, but I didn't have a pen or paper on me :( We had some fun in-character shenanigans in front of the entrance and created a disturbance of Dethklokian oddness that attracted a crowd of fans.
And here's who I went to get an autograph from. Michael Sinterniklaas, also known as Dean Venture. He was extremely charming and fun to chat with. He was making fun of my mustache here XD and I accidentally got him to quote a line. Good times!
NOW FOR SOME VENTURE SPAM. HUNTER IN HIS SPHINX OUTFIT. SPHINX!
HENCHMAN 21 AND 24. I MISSED A PICTURE OF THEM HUGGING.
NYET, IS ALWAYS COLD IN SIBERIA!
Sorry Walter. No Rapture. :(
And, in true Me Fashion, my final picture is of a Skwisgaar. The only way I could.
