Look in- look the storm in the eye, Look out- to the sea and the sky

What dumbass suggested I actually buy property in Louisiana??

Oh yeah, that was me.

I'm in Lancaster, actually, well outta range of the storm. Just like 3 years ago with Katrina. Thanks for the offer; I'll let you know :)

Well, it's not like we get these things all the time.... Probably less often than 'quakes, in general. It's just the 'canes we do get... Yeah. "Run away!" about sums it.

*very grateful for being in central MS, where we'll mostly get lots of wind & thunderstorms*

It may not happen often, but once (OK, twice, now) is all it takes to really ruin your day :( It does appear as I write this that the damage is much less than feared.

I'm just getting off 12 hours on the phones reassuring folks that power will be back on as quickly as possible (& at least 12 hrs tomorrow, too), so please forgive any incoherence.

But yes, I'm thrilled that the damage doesn't seem to be as bad as it could have been. OK, I'm scratching my brain, but can't recall where the heck Lancaster is in relation to any other towns. Does LP&L/Entergy cover that area? (If so, yep, I'm one of your friendly phone goons.)

Lancaster is in PA. I doubt LP&L or Entergy go that far!

Thanks! Of course if there is serious damage, I'll just have to come live with you guys for a while! ;)

I've been living under a rock for while now... I hope the damage wasn't too bad.

Take care.
