So I've had enough freelance coming in that I finally decided to update my super-old program suite, and bought* CS3 and Quark 7. They just arrived today! Yay! So excited for all my new tricks! Of course, now all I need is for my new computer to get built so that I can actually install them. Boo ( Read more... )

CS3 Design Standard - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat. Kind of tempting to get Flash and Dreamweaver for another couple hundred, but let's face it -- I'm not going to sit down and learn those guys from scratch in my spare time just for fun. I know myself too well.

We just got CS3 here a week ago. The new InDesign seems to have fixed most of the really stupid bits of the old version. Haven't found any new stupid yet.

Never used InDesign, so I'm looking forward to learning. Figure it will be pretty useful when I go back into the job market eventually.

My current setup at home is Quark 4.1, PS 6, Acro 6.0, Illustrator 9. So as you can imagine, VERY excited to take this quantum leap into the ... well, present, frankly.

What monster have I created!
Oh, the Randy kind.

You should treat yourself to Flash if they offer a cheap upgrade (I bet they will at some point during the year). I know you well enough and Flash well enough to say that you will take to it like a duck to hot chocolate. A duck that likes hot chocoloate but never thought he would.

That's right; you're pretty much my personal Dr. Frankenstein (Dr. Frankendesign?).

I'll take that under advisement; I'd certainly love to add to my toolbox of skills, but historically I have a bad track record for sitting down and learning things when I don't absolutely need to. So I guess what I really need to do is buy a copy of Flash, and then convince someone to pay me to build a Flash site, and THEN learn how to use it.
