I had an AMAZING weekend. Beyond just being able to relax and leave the emotional intensity that is the teaching that I'm doing, I had a fantastic time in Houston. So, I didn't do very well with the daily entries, so here's an update. It's official: I have now been teaching a week. I share a class with four others, and we all teach two hours a day (the first hour together, and then after that we each have one). We have 14 amazing 4th graders who I already love. Well, I was all, I can handle this! last night. I have since realized just how much we have to do. We are doing an immense amount of work in such a short time. I basically just worked from 7AM to 10PM with about a total of 2 hours for breaks sprinkled throughout the day, and I still feel behind. It's a very stressful thing, and the Arizona ( Read more... )

My parents had a "surprise" graduation cookout for me yesterday (my mom ruined the surprise withing 40 minutes of my seeing her when she came out to Tufts). It was great fun, and I had lots of people who have known me since I was born over.
