Interesting resource concerning the Nancy Bryson ordeal

My Advanced Composition professor told us about this website earlier, http://www.creationdigest.com/. On it, you can find the account of Nancy Bryson's Honors Forum speech on creationism and the ensuing action taken by the University (they asked her to resign then demoted her).

I remember hearing about all that when it happened. After reading the links...especially her interview, I want to dislike her. However, because I wasn't present at the forum I have no idea if she made an educated argument or if it was religion masquerading as science. If I had to go on her interview alone, I would say she was parading around her spirituality as scientific truth. She includes the overwhelming support of her fellow christians and students seeking the "truth" a lot...makes me suspicious. Then again, I happen to like Dr. Parker. Do you know (in detail) what arguments she made? I'm curious to know? Or did I miss it in your links?

Just when you think the math and science nerds are boring they up and surprise ya.

I just found another link not more than two hours ago. Oddly enough it's a transcript from the Kansas evolution hearings. For some reason, she was called in as a witness.

She actually got into some pretty detailed shit in her presentation. She tried to refute the "Cambrian Explosion" and the "Miller/Urey experiments." I've never heard of either of those. I doubt she knows enough to really send the biology professors (i.e. Parker or Aracena) off scratching their heads.

There's the transcript.

I have to chime in, even if it's an old topic coltraneflicky May 30 2006, 19:19:46 UTC
The Miller/Urey experiments were conducted in the 1950's. Elements that could be found on earth were placed into an experimental chamber and exposed to electricity (the type that may occur during a lighting strike). The components of the chamber were then analyzed using chromatography. Analysis showed that many organic compounds were produced, the most important of these being amino acids. If you don't understand the significance of that, then you should probably take a beginning bio class ( ... )

Yeah, Sagan's Cosmos discussed the Miller/Urey experiments. He said the amino acids could replicate...amazing.

No no! More depth please!
