Another PSA type post. There will be something more substantive soon, as I have a slew of personal crises eating my brain at the moment. But I'm still trying to get those thoughts into some sort of order. So, in the meantime, this topic is still coming up a lot with friends/work. All families have unspoken rules. In the process of personal evolution, there is no end game.

I have a past, but I am not my past. Yet, it can hold great sway when I let myself lapse into unconsciousness about it. And suddenly the old tapes will look like good ideas again. There are certain things that I have had to learn to disbelieve my own beliefs about.

But then I remember my favorite saying: "You know that popping sound you're hearing right now? Well, that's your worldview shifting without a clutch."

That would pretty much sum up my more interesting growth curves.
