So, I may be leaving this account open as a free account and just steadily keep deleting entries as I have time.

Thing is, I'm a mod on like 4 LJ communities and I don't want to abandon them entirely. Some don't even have an owner available for contact anymore. *le sighThe actual ficcery will continue to happen on Dreamwidth and AO3 going forward

Okay, double checked and it's an underscore after all. The URL is a dash, but to sign in and to look it up on DW you'd use an underscore. So, there?

we're pally on DW, right? I'm leaving my LJ up as well, but deleting it a month a day. I'm finding so many things I had forgotten and comparing my life then to now and all the plans I had and how it turned out.

found some fics I had totally forgotten about, so that was nice.

Just in case, I checked the privacy settings on the last of the imported posts (over on DW) and it's set to 'public' - just in case that was why you couldn't see 'em or something.

How come you're deleting entries here? Did they change something when I wasn't looking?

It was that mandatory TOS nonsense, the original document of which is in Russian. LJ is owned by a Russian-based company and the Russian government is anti-LGBTQIA, essentially you're in violation of the law if you're not straight. They're also not very big on free speech, as I understand it.

The Mary Sue and Global Voices AdVox give better and more succinct information than I can.

Some of us 'old timers', having seen what happens when such changes are made (entry and account deletions for 'pornography', amongst other things), are just noping out before things get ugly. Although, a TOS not fully translated into the language in which it's being presented, and which you're forced into agreeing with, is a bit ugly IMHO.

So, that's why I (and a fair number of others) are abandoning ship. Though I'm going to have to leave at least a dinghy tied to the dock, here, since I'm sort of responsible for at least one comm and a mod for a couple few others.

Well, you could do like I did and have a message as to where you're picking up stakes and moving to. I will say, Dreamwidth can import your posts and the comments to them from LJ, so you can, literally, take it all with you. Your followers, well, that's obviously up to them, but a lot of folks are packing their camels and riding off to DW and/or AO3.
