Title: The Other Side of Us Author: random_nic Rating: PG-13 Disclaimer: ATWT characters are the property of Telenext and CBS. Word Count: 1515 Summary: Lives are changed in the wake of a traumatic event.
I didn't originally plan to start this off so much from Reid's POV. I think it ended up like that because we never saw Reid have to deal with a real trauma (until you-know-what) on the show, so I was especially interested to explore his reaction to having something like this befall a loved one.
I'm almost mad at you for how agonizing this is to read. But then I'm also in awe of you because you are able to evoke these emotions and draw us so completely into this despondent moment for these characters
( ... )
I've actually been hit head on by a tractor trailer, minus the catastrophic injuries. I figured the brain can be rattled around in there and irrevocably damaged while the victim appears all right on the outside, which makes it sadder in a way - when they appear to be all right, but aren't. But I like your morbid humor LOL.
Oh, well I'm extremely glad you got out of that head on collision without the catastrophic injuries! The ghoulish side of me couldn't help but think poor Luke would be in rather grotesque shape and was grateful that you prettied things up for the family. But you're right, in a way it's sadder that he just looks like he's sleeping, but is gone.
And why was my initial comment to this chapter so LONG? Sorry for the verbosity!

I really feel for everybody's pain here, but it's Reid who's tugging at my heart strings.
Don't ignore him, Snyders.
As always...wonderful.
