I really appreciate that even in this universe deviating from canon, Chris Hughes's moronic decision to hide his illness and not seek proper treatment ends up having devastating consequences for basically everyone but himself. I'm glad that at least here the idiot will probably be denied the Chief of Staff position.

Interesting that Reid seems drawn to Noah now after witnessing that moment of grief, while Noah still can't help but see Reid as an enemy, even as he can acknowledge that Reid is hurting too. The walls are already starting to come down a bit, and I'm looking forward to the deepened understanding that is sure to come.

Your previous comments would seem to indicate otherwise, but I could certainly see a Neid romance gradually developing out of what has come so far. Will you go there? Who knows? You murdered Luke, so I imagine you're pretty much capable of anything now. Another great chapter, Nic!

Woke up early and this was here, the silver lining to my dark, Monday morning cloud.
Throughout this you've beautifully shown us two sides of grief; gut wrenching despair and anger. I'm not surprised Reid's former is so firmly entrenched in the latter - or that he induces the anger in Noah. Hell! He pretty much has that affect on everybody!

I'm really liking the dynamics between Reid and Noah. I can totally see how their shared grief could set them apart from everyone else, giving each of them a lifeline to get through this.

So looking forward to more.

I love the way you are writing this, it's transitioning so easily. It's so believable that Noah would act this way and that Reid would be attracted to that. Not in a sexual way attracted, but in a familiar way. It's what he knows, it's what hasn't changed, can hold on to and feel connected to something.

I also like that Reid is so aware of what Noah was to Luke how Luke was just waiting for Noah. Because that's what the show showed, but then tried to backtrack what they had already scripted and taped.

Can't wait for more, is loving this story to bits.
