So I've discovered this interesting site.....Adoremus.org. I'd only heard of these people in reference to a really uber-orthodox hymnal they put out (and it's a really good one, actually).

I stumbled upon this article.....it was.......shall we say thought-provoking. Read it. Tell me what you think.

interesting article....reformed tradition teaches that all worship should be directed toward God. this is why in presbyterian churches you typically do not sing a song such as "the old rugged cross" because the focus, rather than God, could become an object.

personally, i advocate ensuring most of the texts of the hymns we sing enable us to enter into a conversation of worship with and towards God...but i also think that every once in a while singing "here i am" is ok :-)
