It's not so much Obama getting elected that frightens me. It's the checks and balances going out the window because Dems got majority in senate, congress and then the president. That's so uncool.

I'm very happy with the presidential election results, personally.

But as a country we seem to have a problem meeting in the middle - it's always one direction or another. I wouldn't have been terribly upset if the republicans had won 51 seats in the Senate to balance things out a bit.

That doesn't surprise me. :)

That's because we've got pidgeon holed into this horrible two party system. Everyone tends to have a "If you're not with us, you're against us" kind of attitude. On the upside, it does give me a reason to bitch no matter who wins. >_

Really? I thought it would be a complete shock to everyone who knows me!

Ya know, some days I think that we should scrap our whole governmental system. Label it as "Experiment: FAILED" and start over from scratch.

Nah, I think it would work just fine if it even remotely resembled the government as it was first set up. You know...small federal government, states do their own thing, income tax goes back to being unconstitutional, etc. The government has evolved into something so far from what it was meant to be that our founding fathers are probably spinning in their graves.

You know, I voted for Obama (most amount of lube for me, IMO), but either way we're gonna get shafted somehow. And good call on the checks and balances issue, I didn't even think of it that way (I actually voted Republican for some people, Democrat for others). It will be a rocky four years, either way you slice it.

On the other hand, anything has to be better than Bush, amirite?

Yeah, I don't care what party it is, I don't think any one should have all the power. Being that I don't line up with either major party, I tend to think of these things. The two party system is just an awful set up all around. I *HATES* it. (But then I think most Libertarians do.)

Power...maybe. You'd just be like, "ok, no one can killz people but me. Now shut up and quit bugging me."
Money...nuh-uh. It's mines.
