This reminds me of being 12 years old and drawing absurd designs for weapons in class. Lets make a sword that shoots bullets filled with boiling mercury!
England is a weird place. People might mug you in some countries for money or whatever, but the motivation for thug violence in England is perplexing. I mean the goal in stabbing seems more to be social dominance and disfigurement ranther than robbery or murder. I doubt this kind of weapon will gain popularity. That's not fit for the purpose.
"It's a power thing. It's about ego," says Dr Helen Rodwell, a clinical psychologist who works with young offenders in Derby. "For some it's about imitation. It's the new thing you have to do." It is knife as fashion accessory. "But there is another group who carry knives because they feel unsafe and scared."
Yeah, it is pretty implausible - the Neuromancer reference was about the ridiculous weapons there, like the club with a pyramidal head attached by a spring to give extra momentum

Funny how its not educated consumers that fuel the market. Can you imagine the business man that takes occasional cesna flights over the Rockies and 1-thinks he'll survive a crash, and 2-thinks he needs this silly piece of shit will protect him from bloodthirsty kodiacs like in "The Edge". If the average desk-jockey gets arms-length from even a brown bear he's toast. Get some fucking bear spray.
Heres a great question: Have they officially TESTED this thing? Me thinks there be 50 NPOs that would go nonlinear if they even requested clearance to do so.
Speaking of which, there's a want ad in my grocery store for two people who robbed an armored car with pepper spray. That's europe for you. All subtle and shit.
