i am un-surprisingly content with this state im in, in the state of not working. not that i hate working so much...but its the time i have been able to spend doing better things. working a night job is not quite my cup of tea.

I understand completely! I've always enjoyed it when I've been unemployed (not financially though). I had over a month of that last year. You can do so many other things...

The problem with your attitude about work (work should drive you to excellence for God) is that your foundation is somewhat shaky.
We, according to Scriptures, are called to work, and then we are called to work as unto the Lord.
We all know that there are other things that are much more fun, but to have a rock solid work ethic, is a jewel to behold.
Don't waste youth just on pleasure, you will have nothing to offer anyone in the future.
Work hard, to build a solid foundation, every day, not just for a short time here, and a short time there.
Remember the sluggard!

i fully agree. my point is only that i have issues with the shift i am working. or rather, i was working. since i've been off, i have recreated my life style in that i get up at 7:30am, and i have the entire day to do whatever it is i have to do. i think it's so much better to start early, at least for me.

I really don't think that you understood what Jimmy was saying. He likes to work, but he hates the night shift. I fully understand his feelings about this. I have been working night shift for a number of years, and it is hard to get used to. It is really not normal to work all night, and sleep during the day.It has taken a toll on my body and Jimmy has seen what it has done to me. I would like to see him out of the mill, as it is not a good trade to be in. He is a smart young man, and sometimes, it takes some people a while to find out where they should be.I know that he will find his right cliche, and I will support him in all his decisions.

Well put.

My parents have worked nights and afternoons often and I have seen how hard it is. I think you deserve a medal. Not many people could do what you do.

I do understand! Night shift is a difficult circumstance to be placed in - however I have known people to thrive on the night shift because they just are that way.
Early morning is good, the earlier the better. To locate a career is a full time, fully focused job - not easy for everyone. Nothing is ever easy in life - I know.
Being a parent and supporting ones child's decisions is one thing, guiding a child is another. That too is a full time job, and one my own mother, left to bring up 5 kids on her own, was good at some of the time.
Most graduates take far too long to locate a career, which creates a lot of problems in the future. The sooner we get on the treadmill, the faster we become fitter, and a future help to our families if that is a focus in our life.

Yes,I know what you are saying. But, I still think that you are not understanding what I'm trying to say. I have loved and guided Jimmy for the last 20 years. As you know that that this has been a very hard month for Jimmy, he has been working through a lot of things. I will continue to guide and support him in his decisions and I know that he will get through this trying time.
