In conversations with Shohei I made known some thoughts concerning Christianity and Japan. The crux of my argument was that with the opening of Japan, Christianity became largely a religion of the elite. Intellectuals, businessmen, and socialites were Christians. I remember reading something called "San Sebastian", who was a Japanese Christian. I don't remember exactly what I read, but if I'm not mistaken it was from Akutagawa. Now I remember, I thought it was a screenplay, but Akutagawa occasionally wrote in "scenario form". Just thought, I'd mention it.
