Hey! Long time since I've heard from you via lj. I know it's easy to feel like you're trapped in a hotel in ky. I'd feel the same way too after being there for only a few days. I took a spring break to rural ky a few years ago with a friend, and I have to say, I had a great time. Once you get some wheels and some free time, I'd highly recommend taking some driving adventures into the countryside. Yes, sometimes the scenery is a bit depressing. It will get a lot better when the trees have leaves again. However, I found some of most interesting, eccentric, and fun antique shops ever on that trip. I also drank a lot of coca cola out of glass bottles. If you eat meat, you can get some of the best all natural beef jerkey there too (not slim jim style, real jerky in big thin slabs). That's about all I have to offer you on being trapped in KY. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the advice -- I love me some meat, so will definitely pick up some jerkey. The folks are coming down in April it would seem, and there are some races here then, so will try to visit the grounds as well.

Sorry, as an aside, for the delay in response -- sometimes LJ comments don't actually succeed in making the long trek to my computer, for whatever reason.

Springtime pictures will be posted.
