Movie-viewing is down from the previous year, while Art of Pizza-consumption is up. Hmm.

Double Take [2009]

1. A plane crashes into the Empire State Building. Everyone looks up.
2. Folgers is mountain-grown.
3. The two elderly Hitchcock look-alikes, arms linked, walk slowly away.

Sigh. Got a cold. That Xmas cold that's being regifted all the way around my office. Then again, better now than in two weeks ...

Clue [1985]

1. Cleverest touch: the parquet floor in the hall has squares, like the spaces on the game board.
2. Eileen Brennan's feather hat/eyeglasses combo. She sits there on the sofa, her hand to her jaw, wheezing, while everyone else watches her. Was her drink poisoned?
3. "Flames. Flames on the side of my face."

Bullets Over Broadway [1994]

1. "Don't speak!"
2. He takes a swig from her flask and coughs violently. "What is this stuff?"
"Paint remover," she answers. "You can cut it with some club soda."
3. "For me, love is very deep. Sex only has to go a few inches."

The Electric Horseman [1979]

1. Of course Wilford Brimley is in this movie. How could Wilford Brimley not be in this movie?
2. "You're just walking around to cut down on funeral expenses."
3. Jane Fonda's rolled-up jeans/spike-heeled boots ensemble.

The World Is Not Enough [1999]

1. Foam on his fingers after he puts the ice in his glass.
2. M would never do that. The movie's biggest flaw.
3. Q says, "Always have an escape plan." He slowly descends on a platform, vanishing from sight. Our last view of him ever.

Skidoo [1968]

1. How sad is it that in a movie all about gangsters, the only person that actually dies is Arnold Stang?
2. Carol Channing has a freak out, takes off all her clothes, and cavorts on the bed. Andy put it best: "I never thought I'd be seeing Carol Channing's breasts."

Wonderful, wonderful. The world of cinema is still trying to catch up to where Dr. Seuss was in 1953.

I went to the Chicago Ministry of Rum Festival last week and took some snaps. Good times.
