sleepy update

*jon and i are currently obsessed with the showtime series "dead like me".....it's incredible. go. netflix. now.
*the new bachelor is odd. can't tell if he's actually genuine or not. the other guy seemed really nice, but a little caught up in his moolah. i doubt i'll watch the rest of the season.
*LOST was really good, but i wish they'd shown the 2-hour pilot all in one shot. we'll see what happens next week...i'm interested to see what you guys think of it.
*the second season of the whiny girl show (starting over) is pretty good, and i hope deborah stays away.
*i was very disappointed with the end of canadian idol. theresa totally should've won. hopefully, just as clay and diana have done, she'll get a contract and become very successful. i thought canadian idol was much better than american idol in that they had individual musicians, not just pretty faces who could belt out a few tunes. of the CI kids, i think theresa, kalan, jacob and elena could all easily get contracts. *fingers crossed*
*i have started watching season 1 of gilmore girls in reruns on the canadian girly channel. OMGSOCUTE. i absolutely love it. no, i'd never seen it before. i know, i'm deprived.

my internship ended at the end of the firm's large august project. my choice. i learned more about what i *don't* like in a company than about PR, but whatever.

i'm currently in a magazine writing class through mediabistro.com. it's pretty cool. over the 8 weeks, i'll do 2 different pieces. one will be a food piece about creative meat-free alternatives both in restaurants and in the supermarket/at home. the other will be a profile of po'girl and the release of their new album. i interviewed allison russell monday afternoon; we had a blast just chatting for almost 3 hours. they're comping me to their cd release party saturday night at the media club. should be fun! :)

speaking of music and comps, CJSF, the SFU campus/community radio station is after me to resurrect acoustic pickups. it could potentially be very good. there's an orientation meeting on friday that i'll probably go to, and we'll see from there. they offer a kind of accelerated "training" for people who already have experience and know what their show will be. basically, they just orient you to their policies and equipment, you make a demo in studio b, and as long as it's approved, you're good to go. shouldn't be too tough if i decide to go ahead with it. from my brief phone conversation with the program director, it sounds very similar to wunh in a lot of ways, so i'm guessing i'd find my bearings pretty quickly. and yes, they do stream online, so if i DO go for it, y'all can listen. and you better. ;-)

choir is going very well! there are a few very cool people who could wind up being good friends.

speaking of friends, going from somewhere where i basically couldn't go anywhere without running into someone i knew to somewhere where i only know a very small handful of people, i'm really learning to value the people i do know. the party(parties) recently at j's were fantastic--it was so wonderful to see all of you.

ok, off to lie down for an hour before going to pick up jon at work. it's great that he has the new job and all, but the hours are rough. last night i had to go get him at 4am. today it's only 1am, but STILL. *zzzzzzz*
