"What should I do?" asks Maroo quietly.
"What do you want to do?" we ask back. Now he's a pair of questions to tangle with; nevermind the ones still smoke in his head.
"I'm not sure."
They never are...
"What are your options, then?" Now three, and setting the stage for a flood of others. Any more thought might cause the boy to panic. We relished the idea. "You said you wanted to know."
His reply immediate. "Yes."
"And what are you willing to pay for such information?"
This time not so quick, but we already knew how the scene would play. They always come wanting information, but then give everything away.
