They just broke up a few weeks ago but here he is, back in their once shared apartment. Ryo’s shooting a drama so he decided to come back and get his things. As he is wandering into the apartment, Shige sees bottles of beer scattered across the living room floor, more broken beer bottles at the corner of the room, and broken glasses in every corner of the room. His heart breaks and he can’t help but feel guilty for everything. But it’s too late, Ryo cheated on him and he has to move on. He knows that his former lover will have the strength to pull through but when he enters the bedroom, and sees empty bottles of what seems to be medicines, his heart sinks.
Shige immediately walks to the night stand and picks up a random container. He reads the label, Luminal, his heart drops to his stomach. It’s a depressant used to control anxiety and insomnia. It has hazardous effects on a person, he knows. Still, he keeps his beliefs firm. Ryo can get through this so he packs the rest of his things and leaves the apartment, never to return again.
Headache | 211 words
Shige rubs at his temples for the nth time since rehearsals started. Koyama starts to worry.
“Shige, are you okay? Do you need to rest?”
The man in question looks at his best friend and shakes his head.
“I’m okay, Koyama. Just a minor headache,” he smiles before continuing with the routine.
A few hours later finds the rest of NEWS in the practice room, resting. Shige, just as he stands from a sitting position, starts feeling pain just behind his ear, he reaches out for help when everything goes black.
NEWS stands for a few seconds then goes into a state of panic, calling the ambulance, calling the manager, fanning Shige with a cardboard.
They take him to a nearby hospital where the doctor asks them what happens, takes a look at Shige, and then orders an MRI. Few hours into waiting, Shige is already settled into a suite, still unconscious. Koyama is by his side, holding his hand while the rest of the members are scattered about in the room, waiting for the diagnosis.
They jump in unison when the doctor enters the room with a grim look on his face.
“I think you guys need to sit down.”
“What is it, doctor?” Yamashita asks.
“It’s a brain tumor.”
