Wait is that First Kiss or Another First Kiss? Because they're very different songs. Also, I dunno, Aimee! There's something about TMBG's 'love' songs and other songs eiusdem generis that's just really fascinating, they cover just a whole wealth of emotions and narratives that you'd never find in a traditional love song. And traditional love songs are all about the same thing, all sound alike, all require no critical thinking whatsoever. On the other hand, TMBG gets to write about relationships and employ the unreliable narrator or weave breakup tales where no one is really at fault and both parties end up hurting each other.

Always worrying about their hair
Got tired of wasting all my time
Now I'm not worrying at all
How 'bout another first kiss, she said
How 'bout another first kiss, I said
I want another first kiss like this
How 'bout another first kiss
I dunno, John! I was always more of a fan of love songs that end well.
Also: poor Snake! Otacon doesn't even realize that he's playing with a man's heart. Soldiers have feelings, too!

Also a post here makes a good point:
The part of the song that has been neglected in out commentary is:
"No one in the world ever gets what they want and that is beautiful
Everybody dies frustrated and sad and that is beautiful "
which I feel is true. I am not sure if the major issue is chaeting, but I think that he still wants to be with her because he realizes nothing is ever perfect.A lot of people tend ( ... )
