I'm afraid part 5 is going to be a while. Part 4 got a big rewrite and 5 is only in the planning stages.

Yay! Another great story! :-) It's touching that Lestrade can't help caring about Sherlock, despite everything that happened recently with Mycroft. It's also interesting the way the tables are turned. In the last story, Lestrade felt as if everything was out of his control. Then, in this story, he sees Mycroft lose control. BTW, I thought you handled that particular scene beautifully. I love the way that Mycroft just collapsed, as if his strings had been cut. I'm really curious to know whether there will be repercussions for Lestrade now that he's witnessed such an event.

Part 5 will be building on what happened. I figure Mycroft has to care about his brother, even if he has odd ways of showing it.

I was just re-reading part 4, then went over to dilestrade in hope of some more fics, and this was waiting like a sleeping beauty.
Finally we see Sherlock, and it's a Sherlock in need of urgent medical assistance, and Lestrade's the one finds him! And MH collapses! Now Lestrade's seen the Holmes brothers both in their worst times. I cannot contain the thrills shooting through me!
*fans self* Again, I LURV your Lestrade. This is a man I would trust with my life (and body!) with. He's a hero.
In addition, I love the account of what a normal day in the office is like for Lestrade. Really gives him more dimensions. Love the background story of him being in the riot control unit and the death of his partner. He's expanding like crazy as a character!
"Yes, Mycroft Holmes, address care of a current model black Mercedes, if you want him just find a CCTV camera and hold up a sign"? This bit made me double over in laughter!
I can't wait for part 5 to come out, naturally. But I'll wait as long as it'll take for you to finish it.

I enjoy the police side of Lestrade, because the man is "the best of the professionals", and does a hard and under-appreciated job. (Need more Lestrade-and-his-team-being-good-at-what-they-do fics!)

Part 5 is happening, I know where it's going but these things have ambushed me before....

This series is so incredibly wow. It's so in character that I can actually see it as a movie in my head. Though I wish I could have turned on the tele for the scene when Lestrade finds Sherlock. Heartbreaking. But yes, love the dynamics, love the insight into Lestrade - who knew he was so interesting. Can't wait to read more!
