For 7500 words, this was a remarkably quick read! Great mix of drama and action, especially the scene where Lestrade has to fight off the thugs and keep them off the bomb at the end. You've done a great job showing that, although he's no James Bond, he's well-trained, healthy, and most of all, determined. And best of all, Mycroft got to see some of it. Mycroft's growing affection for Lestrade is all the more tragic for being so understated. How much of Lestrade's decision to remain in prison, disgraced and at the mercy of the “cowboys” is based on trust in Mycroft and how much is just plain duty? Poor Mycroft, this must be driving him nuts! :( I suppose it serves him right, but still ( ... )

Mycroft knows what he wants, he just has (for once) no idea how to get it. He is thinking hard about it though...

At that particular moment Lestrade would have been anyone's for a really good meal but he's not always quite so easily managed!
