I've got my one Black Friday campaign medal as you know (Best Buy, Flint, MI, 2004), and that cured me of EVER wanting to do that. I really don't know what would be worth that. Certainly no HDTV for 50% off. I still have some shreds of dignity and they can't be had so cheaply.

My girlfriend actually went out shopping on BF this year. I told her months ago that under no circumstances was I leaving the house before, say, 6:00 pm, and she was cool with that. But she woke up at 6:00 am, decided that saving five bucks at Half Price Books wasn't worth it, and slept in until noon.

I love her to death. :D

yeah...toys r us last year was horrific. but not as horrific as that. i worked black friday for 2 or 3 years at walgreens. but it was not as bad as last year at TRU and certainly not as bad as your black friday...i'm sorry...TRU calls it green friday because they make a lot of money. anyhow, i'm glad i work at a comic book shop and didn't have to participate in black friday this year.
