i see a lot of folks at my climbing gym do these exercises - usually with a band - i had thought it was something to do w/ physical therapy (more of a stretch vs 'workout'). is this more shoulder than bicep? or both?

Yeah its a shoulder exercise. I'm adding it to arms because I'm standing there with the cable already in my hand. The climbers probably do it to wake up the muscles because this is all about the rotator cuff. It gets hit in physical therapy alot because its easy to hyper extend any one of these muscles. Its also easy to do pulling movements incorrectly by overusing the traps and not the mid back. So shrugging instead of rowing. Thats how I pinched a nerve.
