Perceptor looked up from his datapad and chuckled softly, aware of Kia looking up at the same time and feeling her delight at the sight they both saw.

A short distance away Joe was laying on his stomach, the noonday sun shining off his skin as he conversed softly with Shiloh, who wriggled and chirruped with great animation and interest as he held onto his tail with one tiny hand.

"It appears that..."

"Rodimus was quite correct."

"A bit of time off...."

"Is most pleasant and relaxing." Kia's smile was sweet as she resumed rapidly scrolling through the scientific reports that she was reading. Then she chuckled at an excited little hiccup from their son. "And Shiloh is enjoying himself as well."

She looked up again as Perceptor noticed Ironhide walking near the statue of Optimus, and both of them waved in unison to the old soldier and his sparklet retinue.

"I too would have returned," said Perceptor softly, his expression pensive and thoughtful.

"I know." Kia put a hand on his arm, then frowned at a bit of data in the report.

"My word... what is he thinking?" Perceptor frowned at it, and then quickly contacted the author.

Shiloh hiccuped again and reached for Joe's face as his foster parents settled down to gently point out the error of their fellow scientist's thought processes.
