Rodimus looked around as someone landed beside him on the Medic's Dream's back, then crooked a grin. //Good work.//
Threnody nodded grave thanks, though she looked quizzical. //Your Autobot programming doesn't extend to Meredronian drones?//
The Prime sighed. //It does. But from what I've seen of them... they're not sentient, and what the Meredronians have done to them destroys any hope they'd have ever had of living normal lives.//
//They're animals, then?// Threnody glanced back as Runt and a tall and burly black femme landed a little distance away and walked toward them.
//They're less than animals.// Rodimus sighed and felt his tank churn at the thought of what the fallen dragons did to the beings they enslaved.
//The Greater Creator will repair them. In the time to come, when everything is set right.// Threnody gave him a gentle punch to the shoulder.
He staggered a bit, his grin returning. //Hey, watch it! Don't pick on the runt!//
The young Warlady snorted at him, able by now to understand when he was joking. //Has there been any sign of Cliffjumper?//
//Nothing.// Rodimus frowned as he absently watched four of the six members of the Deherree gestalt congregate for a gab or snark session. //Not even debris. Which probably means he's still around.//
//I'll ask Scourge to look into it.// Threnody nodded, her optics sweeping the battlefield for the last gestalt member.
//He's found a last drone and is making sure it's finished, my lady,// reported the black femme in a surprisingly light and mild voice.
Threnody nodded, then reached out to absently pick Runt up by the scruff and dust him off.
//Deherree, I presume?// Rodimus cocked his head curiously, taking in the black femme's heavy armor and serious expression.
//Yes, sir.// She stood to attention.
//At ease.// He resisted the urge to make a wisecrack, remembering how well rookie Galvatronians usually reacted to humor from superiors. //That was nice work out there. You really know how to keep Abominus in line.//
//That's what I was created for, sir,// said the young femme simply, her crimson optics curious.
Rodimus grinned at her, then turned back to Threnody and lifted a browplate. //So my guys are scanning with all sensors, and it seems this was a ploy to pull people away from the borders. From what Perceptor's been able to tell about the teleportation device the dragons used it's not that friendly to Meredronian physiology, and fairly easy to block. So we don't have to worry about Meredronian quints showing up on Earth's doorstep, and it won't be hard to keep the drone riffraff out either.//
//Good.// Threnody set Runt back on his feet and put out a hand to steady the little Seeker as he weebled dizzily.
Rodimus nodded, then paused. //Ah, 'scuse me, I've got a call.//
//As do I.// Threnody cocked her head.
//Rodimus, Threnody, are you reading me clearly?// asked Perceptor, sounding excited. //I'm sending via encrypted signal, but it is imperative that both of you receive the message.//
//I'm hearing you loud and clear, Percy,// said Rodimus, his bored expression fading.
//As am I,// reported Threnody calmly, her optics alight with curiosity. //What have you discovered, Perceptor?//
//Oh it's not so much a discovery,// said the scientist joyfully. //But a breakthrough. A gift!//
//...You found the magic end to war?// Rodimus couldn't resist teasing the enthusiastic mech, only to be shocked and silenced by Perceptor's reply.
//We very well may have. Do you remember how Joe gave me permission to work with some of his genetic code?//
//I... dimly recall hearing something about it,// said Rodimus cautiously.
//Please receive the enclosed databurst.//
Rodimus studied the image of the floating embryo closely, aware of Threnody's frown as she did the same. //He's got a tail. Shilo has a brother.//
//No,// said Threnody. //Rodimus, look closer.//
//Looking... wait... are those... wings?// The flame emblazoned Prime's optics brightened with surprise. //Percy, is that a little girl?//
//It IS,// said the scientist gleefully. //And her three brothers are all healthy and growing normally, as well. They'll all surpass poor Shiloh in size, at the onset at least.//
//So we're going to have a real dragon family.// Rodimus shook his head slowly.
//And Priyasha may very well be able to convince the native Meredronians to give up this senseless battle and be at peace.//
//Priyasha?// asked Threnody curiously. //What does that mean?//
Perceptor's voice was low as he replied. //Beautiful hope.//
The young Warlady's mouth curved up at the corners. //Fitting. Have you anything else for us, Perceptor?//
//Not at this time. And I really must end the transmission now, as I can see that Shiloh has just wakened from his most recent nap and Kia is engaged in monitoring the other children.//
//You're not thinking of raising all five of those guys by yourself, are you?// asked Rodimus.
//Ah... we hadn't put thought to the matter. But we can discuss it after you've returned to Cybertron.//
Rodimus chuckled as the connection ended, then looked up at Threnody. //How about that?//
She gave him a grave smile in return, then excused herself to go knock apart the quarreling parts of her ship.
Rodimus laughed, and then turned to go back inside his own ship and let Springer know the news.
