Ratchet lay back and watched the intricate patterns formed by a flock of Seekers, one arm beneath his head as he listened to Spike's contented 'sleeping' sounds from where the sparkling lay next to him. He didn't look around as he sensed another presence come to sit next to him. "That didn't take long."
Galvatron grumbled softly but didn't reply.
He frowned and turned his head to look at her, feeling her wistfulness and chagrined resignation. "That's why we don't usually go back."
"You do."
"Not to my family," he said soberly. "Not since Panacea finally let go of the hurt over Spike. I'd just get in the way."
"Because they've healed and moved on." Her voice was low and sad, and her usually proud face humbled.
"Yeah. It's part of life." He reached over to gently squeeze her foot.
She kicked his hand away with an irritable growl, then looked up at the Seekers, her optics picking out Starscream, who was laughing as she bore Moonshadow aloft.
"You'll never be forgotten," said Ratchet gently. "And someday we'll all be together again."
Galvatron just kicked him again, then faded into the Song.
The former CMO sighed, but then turned his attention back to the joyful dance of the Seekers, one arm going around the sleeping Spike.
