Pond(ering)

EDIT: my putzi digital camera will not get me a clear shot of all the baby bumblebees on my bush outside. If I'm far enough away for it to focus, then you can't see any of them because they're small! If I'm close enough to see the baby bumblebees all asleep in the flowers in the morning, then they're just a blurry dot of black!

So, no baby bumblebees. :( I have around 30 or so asleep every morning on each bush beside my house. It's quite humorous to watch them wake up as the sun creeps slowly across the bush and warms them up. The ones in the very back prolly wake up going, "Bzuh? Wha? I'm LATE!" and then buzzing off madly from flower to flower!

Silly things. Why don't they go home at night to sleep? Are they all teenagers?

2010 pond.

The summer was weird and either 90+ degrees or cold/rainy. Ponds don't like that very much. So it used to be perfectly clear, but the wonky weather has it kind of murky. I'll muck it out a bit, trim up the water lilies and put them in the deep end, basically "put the pond to bed for the winter" in about another month. (Yay, Splunking!)

Eye level view across the pond:

Waterfall and my pot of Very Happy Moss!

1/2 whiskey barrel planter with glass balls and water hyacinths.

I have orders to take photos of baby bumblebees in the morning when they are all sleeping on my flowerbush, so ... I'll do that in the am and they'll show up in here.
