Burnt Out

Feb 21, 2006 18:31

My energy is torched. I spent an estimated 35 hours from Saturday through Tuesday working on Robotics at the Engineering building. Most of that was trying to get the thing programmed. Since the thing had to be shipped out today, I wanted to get the programming finished. Sadly I didn't have close to enough time. Another ten hours and I might ( Read more... )

hey, i'm sorry for the tough weekend, and i understand what you mean about too many people getting in the way...perhaps the whole "appendage team" would have worked better if there were only three of them.
and if i seemed too eager to drive, i apologize.
are we meeting tomorrow to clean up?

Kibitzing isn't a technical term as far as I know. It just refers to standing around and talking about irrelevant things to someone who is actually doing something. I'll stop worrying when I get my work backlog complete. I'm not one to worry much about the past, but the future can give me problems.

JACOB UPDATED!!!! *stunned* lol

yea, also sorry for being eager to drive.

I just have to say that I really liked the button controls for the shooter better than just using the joystick- better aim and more accuracy; Kudos to you for that. I'm sure that the autonomous mode will be ok, since you have managed to pull it off for the past 3? years at the competition. Don't stress it too much.

And I am bringing Aladdin on the Bus trip to Waterloo, so you can watch it for the third time in your life- a fact i still can't believe.

To start with I've been on the team 2 years now, so I've only managed to get it working one year. And in any case if I can't get the thing done, it's hardly my fault considering the limited time I was given.

no one's blaming you. It took the "arm team" long enough to get the shooter and other "appendages" working.

Thanks much. Have you been sick or something? I haven't seen you in school lately.

Ok, so I had a livejournal, right?

Well, a parent saw it, and was "furious at the vulgar language and hateful tone" of it and sent it to the superintendent.

I was approached on Tuesday Morning about it, and I was suspended for 2 days with pay, until my hearing this morning.

At the hearing, after my and Mr. George's testimony, they decided that I had 2 options: the superintendent said that he was going to suspend me for 10 days without pay and also recommend to the board that I be terminated, OR I could resign and everything would go away.

There really wasnt any choice there at all.

So thats pretty much that.

Also, know of any good jobs?

OMG!!!! I can't believe they made u resign!!! Mr. Henline, i am so incredibly sorry!!!

I can't believe that the school board is judging you on things you do in your own free time. A journal is a place to put out your feelings and thoughts, no matter how angry or happy you are. And when you do what any other sane person would do, tell your thoughts and kept contact with friends, no one should be able to judge you and decide that you aren't fit for a job that doesn't pertain to it specifically.

They should have taken into consideration how much help you have put in at school, how sudents you impacted, how qualified you are, and how many people you really helped overall before they decided your future for you. i know many students came to you for college app help and scholarship help when they needed it, instead of going to their own councilers. And now with you gone, we are all going to be at a great lost. We'll miss you greatly Henline!
