So so so true. Even if Obama wins (which I am still sort of scared to hope), I am genuinely concerned that there are people, living in the same country that I am, who shout "kill him" at rallies. Disagree on policy, absolutely. But hating someone so much, because they belong to another "race", whatever the fuck that means (according to science, NOTHING) and because a whole bunch of your friends forwarded you an email that he's a muslim, so it MUST be true, that you want to kill them? That's scary. That is very very fucking fightening.
I am also with you on the disappointment about John McCain. It's really unfortunate that our leaders get like this when they get a little taste of power. Because I think he is better than this... my friend who is voting for him (ugh) claims that she's doing so cause "He's totally lying! I know what the real John McCain is like!" Like, that is a first, voting FOR someone cause you think they're lying.
