I'm pretty sure it's not a weird American quirk. I've visited Britain many times, and I know for a fact that there are people over there who love our accents. XD
Still, this was a lovely survey. *_* I'm having fun imagining lots of different accents. ♥
IT'S... a bit of a conglomeration of British, Irish, Scottish and... Cape Breton linguistic mysteries. Most people can't understand it half the time, lmao.
FORMAL. I'm into the gentleman type. I remember I used to watch Harry Potter movies with my friends just to listen to their sexy voices. Because I hate HP. :| *SHIFTY EYES*
ROFL. Yeah I agree with that, I like cockney but I tend to lean more towards formal in preference. And I would do that...with LOTR >_> THOUGH I ADMIT MY LOVE FOR THAT SERIES TOO.
Mmm, that is true. any sexy voice is good. @_@ I admit to my shallowness that if a professor has a sexy voice, i'm way less likely to zone out. IT'S A FLAW, BUT I CAN ADMIT TO IT.

Yes, Newfoundlander accents are sexy. It's an acquired taste, and quite possibly a Maritimer thing xDD

The best example I could find, lmao. It's sort of really exaggerated at parts, but that's basically what it is, ahaha.

Is there a particular type of British accent (like a formal vs. cockney) or just British in general?
