"King Arthur" (the most recent one) is on one of the movie channels right now.

I hate it almost as much as I hated the most recent Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. But not quite as much as I hated the Wizard of Earthsea mini-series.

For a movie that makes a huge point of telling you that it's the one true story of Arthur, it makes no mention of how the backward-living Merlin was good enough to bring them all those weapons from the future.

I detest that movie. I loathe that movie.

Um, filmmakers...Stonehenge? Is. Not. At. the. Edge. of. a. Cliff.

And if we're going to get technical about trying to recreate the "real story" of Arthur, Lancelot shouldn't be there. Chretien de Troyes added him to the legend much later. And Guinevere should so not be an Amazon, or whatever the heck she was.

Yeah, this movie sucks. First Knight was better, and that's saying a lot.

Didn't you do a review about it at some point? I can't -- and don't have mental stamina to -- find it. Between us, I think, we can pretty much demolish KA as a valid form of free expression....

The only good thing about King Arthur is the pretty men.

I didn't hate the HHGttG movie, it just disappointed the hell out of me. Damn me and my expectations that it, you know, would be like the book.

Not having seen "King Arthur", I can't really comment on it. I did, however, hate "Excalibur" with a passion. Hope that helps.

Well, I would have tolerated it not being like the book had it been, you know, in any way funny. But it was like the book -- only with all the funny deliberately excised for reasons incomprehensible.

I cannot think of the Earthsea series without thinking of your undying hatred of it.

Oh, I love the books beyond measure. It's just the miniseries I hated. The books, I cuddle and kiss.
