And so it begins ....

I've just accepted an offer with Google. I'm both excited and scared; this is going to be different than places I've worked in before. And, of course, it's full time work after several years of part time and six months off. But it's going to be interesting.

FABULOUS! I hope you'll find challenges and be doing work that matters to you, with folks you like. At least this, but hoping for much more.

We should celebrate! Ping me for available times to go out for coffee if you're interested! I'd love to hear more.

Definitely! I'll send you email. (Sorry I haven't contacted you before now--my brain, and more, has been eaten by this job search & decision process :-J.)

Congrats, even though it'll make having lunch together even harder. When do you start?

On this coast, they work people *hard*, but I've never really heard anyone complain the way they do at other companies. They appreciate and honor their workers or something.

It's interesting--one of the things people seem worried about for me is long hours, but the people I know in the Boston office are pretty solid close to 40/week folks. I think it has to do with average ages in the different places. But if you're not talking about hours, yeah, I expect to be pushed hard, and I expect to enjoy it a lot :-}.
