I think this is one of the reasons it fell flat for me on a few levels, despite me REALLY liking a lot of other parts of it. Overall I loved it, and it had a weird, tense tone the whole time and made me feel really squirmy for everyone. That's pretty much exactly how I felt when I'd just finished watching. It was just such a tense episode, where so many things seemed to be about to happen - I also thought Gaius might be about to die at some point, or that Agravaine would discover something about Merlin, and probably a few other things that I'm forgetting at this point - such a great build-up, that when nothing happened, it felt all the more like an anti-climax

Oh, man, I didn't even pay attention to the books! I assumed they had to be horribly obvious to make a point or something. :D
Arthur using the words heart broken like that, man. Boys.
Oh, yes! ♥ They were just both so raw in that scene, askdfdfk, it completely broke my heart but at the same time it also really pulled me in.
