Slumdog Millionaire

I saw Slumdog Millionaire several weeks ago and a part of me thoroughly enjoyed it while a part of me was highly unsettled.  I didn't have time then to process my response and then I got over it and seem to have stored it in the "movies I liked" category of my brain and moved on.

I guess you were disappointed when they won 8 Oscars, eh?

I quite enjoyed the movie, I thought the cinematography was amazing although I have to agree with you, that it was shallow and glossed over the depressing things.

I bought the book that the movie was based on, Q&A by Vikas Swarup, and that is a completely different creature than the movie. There is definitely no glossing over the issues that the Indian people have to face. I think you would enjoy the book a lot more. Also, there is next to no love story, except for in the last 50 pages.

I think you should definitely give the book a chance, it seems right up your alley.
