Yeah, they've put it on the system as stolen. Which pretty much means nothing, unless someone tries to sell it or it's tied up with something illegal.

Well, my key went missing the day the cleaner was at our house. I just really, really don't want to accuse anyone! It could go so wrong... and I like her a lot.

I'm hoping that the fact that your key was stolen means it's more likely that you'll SEE your car, and it's more likely that you'll recover it. I'm so sorry.

I'm also SOOO sorry it's not insured. That sucks so bad. Here, if it's financed, the bank makes you carry full coverage to make sure they'll recoup their investment if anything happens to it. Since my insurance payment is more than my car payment, I hate my bank and insurance company in equal measure.
