This is Kat. Life is a precious thing, and if you have learned that pride cometh before a fall then alright. The problem is, when we don't know what happened, we're not sure how to help.
And, though you may have always known the price of hesitation, you may not have truly understood it. Now you know.
The only way you could have failed us is if we thought you were a failure.
If you wallow in your failure, and refuse to make yourself better because you're too busy wallowing in "oh what a horrible person I am" then and ONLY then, do you START to become awful. Notice I did ot say monster or failure. You are neither.
Failure is a reminder of many things that are true: mortality, preciousness of life, the need to learn. Failure is not an indicator of weakness. Letting failure overcome you with apathy and guilt is weak. Letting failure become a necessary reminder of the important things in life is an amazing strength.
