Firefly: Was I even there?

Jul 05, 2006 01:00

I think this is the first time I experienced Firefly without actually participating. I was always doing something, but I never felt like I was participating. Okay, okay. Even though I probably was participating, it didn't feel that way.

This year at Firefly, a group of us, including my good friend

first I must say- Wow, you have a smart girlfriend!! Did i meet her?
Thanks, glad you liked the performance! I always nitpick and say it could have been better, but considering the conditions I'm just so pleased we got to do it at all!! That wind was scary at times. But yay! fun!

We also did a lot of work and coped with a lot of weather-related complications... but i guess due to being closer in we got to see more stuff and people. Better weather would have made it easier to do much more.

"Makes big plans, winds up doing a lot of work, lucky if it comes together in time at all, kinda works too hard" sums it up for all of us i think... which can be spectacular when it works, and frustrating when circumstances conspire to throw in too many setbacks.

Yes, having fallback plans just in case is good advice.

I saw you... infact you were the only person whom I saw several times.

You were totally there. Andif it was all a bug-free party in the sky.. it wouldn't be a burner event, now would it?

yay!

My bro, you were most definitely there! You made VSV happen -- it was your idea and your camp from start to finish, the rest of us were just helping you out. Plus you served as a ranger, and you were even Khaki for one of the most unpopular shifts. You even fed everyone in VSV, and that was truly above and beyond the call of duty -- and it was damn good food! And you provided so much beer that some was left over -- and it was damn good beer ( ... )

you would think that dragging a new girlfriend out camping in the mud with 400 other crazy people wouldn't be a good idea :)

but as Dr Didj said, you were utterly amazing at dealing repeatedly with both personal and technical setbacks. i definitely want to echo the words "skill and grace". yeah, i was disappointed too that we didn't get much of a chance to run around together and explore and enjoy the goings on. but this way was better for getting to know you. thanks. *kiss*
