Ever have trouble getting a "read" on someone. Well, I've always wanted to know how to read Nancy. Frankly, I don't understand that girl. I wish someone would have given me this guide to her before I had met her. It would have saved me a lot of trouble and confusion.

wow, lots of details I wouldn't have thought of. I wonder though, whether an experienced artist thinks of all those things technically, or if they just look at a sequence and it feels "right". Same with literature. It's fine for readers to analyze and admire these things after the fact but I find it hard to imagine an author planning it all out while they are writing. Oh, need some foreshadowing here, need more characterization and a dash of irony there. But being neither a writer nor an artist i really have no idea of the process. I guess they would do the technical study of other people's works to improve their sense of "right"ness? maybe i'm romanticizing the artistic process. :p

Actually, now that I think about it, some of the extras on movie DVDs have the director explaining the technicalities of their choices. So maybe some people do create that way.
