Obama's 'open door' to health reform

Apologies to the less politically minded reading this, but I just hate when I see people arguing about issues while ignoring huge pieces of information. Health Care reform has the potential to impact every American, and could majorly affect the economy. Even if you're not political, I encourage you to educate yourself

We'll make a libertarian out of you yet, Nock. Don't be too surprised when both sides of the aisle ignore you completely. Regulation is their life-blood.

Tom, I could never be a libertarian, because I realize that people with enough power, when they are not answerable to those who put them in power, will abuse that power. Government has a role, which is to be big enough to keep the fabulously wealthy from being dicks to everyone else, while simultaneously being willing to kick its leaders out at regular intervals so they won't be dicks too.

I trust the potentially helpful (albeit flawed) system of government more than I trust the definitely unworkable system of anarcho-capitalism.
