Busy. I just started a job in Singapore and I'm three weeks into training. So everyday I spend 10 hours in the office, trying to understand all the complexities of corporate life. Subsequently time for fandoms, anime, manga, and all that jazz got cut into almost non-existent. xD

Okay, your turn to tell!

Great story - I can SO see this happening, because Zoro just doesn't CARE about money. Or material possessions in general, really (barring swords) and I can see that driving Nami bananas sometimes. And the way he lets her keep and use the money - which I understand is kind of the traditional Japanese married couple method as well - is just really cute.

Haha, they're so interesting because they're just the opposite of each other in financial issues. He's the hermit, and she's the socialite. I find that combination attractive in some way. xD Thanks for reading, Jae! <3

Thank you! )) That's one lovely story.))
I think they don't really have different personalities. They have complimenting personalities. And that makes them such an awesome couple. )))

Thank you! And I totally agree, they are an awesome couple because they complete each other! Sort of a yin and yang thing, which is just... awesome. (Notice how verbose I am when I gush about them? xD)

Roronoa Zoro's Debt anonymous May 24 2008, 01:13:57 UTC
The flow of the story is splendid, I really loved reading it. (Hi, I'm Efil btw.) I think Zoro still has the phobia with regards to money related topics involving Nami. If you remember the episode in Saboten Jima (Cactus Island) where Nami blackmailed Zoro for not paying the loan-shark interest when he borrowed money from Nami, which he returned without deduction few hours later. The loaning took place in Logue Town where Zoro wanted to buy a new sword. Now when they arrived in Saboten Jima Nami ordered Zoro to save Vivi and Nami, according to her, has the right give this kind of orders because Zoro didn't payed the loan interest.

Zoro, indeed has never thought much about money. And in some other special editions of onepiece stories, he was even portrayed as a monk who hasn't eaten for about a week. xD

Hahaha, I love that bit about his owing money to Nami and being used in return to save Vivi. It's partly what inspired this ficlet, though I suspect I might have taken far more liberty with the other characters. Thank you for your kind comment!

Lovely. I've tried reading Zoro/Nami, but until now haven't been able to read anything true to character. I love their stubborn, but playful banter in this.

Thank you for reading! If you'd like, I can recommend some good ZoNa fics and authors out there. :)

One of my absolute favorite Zoro/Nami fics has to be Because by X-Parrot (xparrot), an absolute guarantee of delight. It's clever and thoughtful, way better constructed than any others, and respectful of the characters by actually understanding them.

Another one is Duodecad by Fushigi Kismet (tokyofish). Poignant, slightly poetic, and just about the right size for a sigh.

I have read more interesting ones, but at this moment it'll take a bit more effort to find them (all right, gargantuan -- I need to sift through FFNet, LJ, and the Net in general). Hope you can start from these two!
